“Public service isn’t just a job, it’s a calling to listen, to lead with compassion, and to make sure no one is left out of the conversation. I’m running for City Council because Layton deserves leadership that sees every resident, values every voice, and works every day to build a stronger, more connected community.”

Meet Linda Lartigue

Hi, I’m Linda, wife to a 25-year Army veteran, proud mother of two incredible young adults, and a longtime public servant with a passion for building strong, inclusive communities.

As a military family, we’ve lived all over the world and been blessed with incredible experiences, but nowhere have we found a sense of community as quickly as we did right here in Layton. That’s why, when the opportunity presented itself, we bought a house here, and we’re so grateful to call Layton home.

As a trilingual resident (English, Spanish, and American Sign Language), the mother of a Deaf daughter in graduate school, and an Autistic son navigating adulthood, I understand firsthand how important it is for every family to feel seen, heard, and supported. I’ve spent my career ensuring that government works for people, not just in policy, but in real life.

For over a decade, I’ve led efforts across local government and the nonprofit sector to expand access to services, support military families, and amplify the voices of the community.

I served as the Community Engagement Administrator in the Ogden Mayor’s Office, where I collaborated with city departments, managed grants, and worked alongside community partners to address real-world issues like education gaps, housing access, and emergency preparedness.

Before that, I proudly worked in the City Manager and Mayor’s Office in Layton, where I supported council operations, assisted residents, and coordinated public communications. My work has always been grounded in practical experience, spanning policy development, community engagement, public safety coordination, and strategic planning.

In 2021, I co-founded Trips for Troops, a nonprofit that connects servicemembers stationed at Hill Air Force Base with host families, creating a stronger sense of belonging. I’ve also served as the Executive Director of Deaf Dreams, where I advocated for Deaf and hard-of-hearing community members to receive the support and visibility they deserve.

Now, I’m ready to bring that experience home to Layton. As your city councilmember, I’ll work every day to make sure our city grows with heart, protects what makes it special, and builds a future where every resident, regardless of ability or background, has a seat at the table.

“A Voice for Every Family in Layton” isn’t just my slogan. It’s my promise.
